Terms of use

Mindroom Innovation (MI) has developed a website miconnect.com.au (Site). The Site and the Services provided by the Site are intended for use by MI students seeking employment opportunities and/or Employers seeking individuals to place in employment.

This employment can be any type of employment as long as it abides by and follows Australian rules and regulations regarding the employment of international students.

The Terms and Conditions set out below (and incorporating the MI Connect Privacy Policy which is available for viewing on the Site) (‘Terms’) govern your use of this Site (miconnect.com.au) and the Services that this site provides.

If you do not agree with any or all of these Terms do not access or otherwise use the Site, the Services or the Information contained on this Site. Your use of the Site or the Services provided by the Site shall be deemed to be your agreement to abide by all of the Terms set out in these Conditions of Use. MI Connect may at its sole discretion and without notice make changes to the Site and/or the Services offered on this Site and/or the Terms. Should it be necessary for MI Connect to make changes to the Terms. Be advised, that MI Connect is a free service for both students and employers seeking employees/contractors/freelancers.

The Site contains data relating to employment opportunities and descriptions of those employment opportunities and data and descriptions of Individual’s (who are seeking employment) qualification, availability, and experience amongst other things. The data and descriptions are provided by a variety of sources and in a number of cases are the result of searches conducted by MI Connect and its partners. MI Connect has no control over those people who created the data or the description that is included in the MI Connect search or placed on the MI Connect site by others. To the maximum extent permitted by Law, MI Connect disclaims all responsibility including, but not limited to, responsibility for accuracy, timeliness, completeness, availability, legality, fitness for purpose, merchantability, infringement or warranty (including implied warranty) for any content, data, descriptions, opinion, advice, information, statements or website that are provided/made by third parties including any content incorporated in the Site or the Services provided by the Site as a result of searches made by MI Connect and its partners of third party material that are included in or linked to the Site and/or the services provided by the Site.

You as a user of the Site must not post in any manner or way any content, data, descriptions, information etc that does not comply with the Laws of Australia.

You must not post any content, data, descriptions, information etc. that is, but not limited to, defamatory, obscene, abusive, threatening (including sexual, ethnic or racial slurs etc.) or which might be libellous.

You must not post any confidential or proprietary information, any information that is deceptive, false, misleading, or inaccurate. You must not use the Site or the Service provided by the Site in any commercial manner for which the Site and the Service are not intended to be used and approved by MI Connect including but not limited to linking or framing the Site and or the content of the Site or retrieve or index any portion of the Site. MI Connect retains the right to remove such material and /or device from the Site at its sole discretion. MI Connect also retains the right, at its sole discretion to prevent, terminate or restrict you from using the Site and or the Services provided by the Site, in any way MI Connect sees fit, if you do not comply with the Terms and in particular this clause of the Terms.

Data, descriptions and information provided by third parties remain the property of third parties. You must ensure that you comply with any conditions of use of that property including but not limited to copyright and privacy. If you provide data, descriptions, information to MI Connect by posting it on the Site you grant to MI Connect a worldwide, royalty- free, non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual licence to use, distribute, reproduce, publish, modify, adapt, translate, incorporate, sub- licence the data, descriptions and information as MI Connect reasonably sees fit.

MI Connect receives and hosts data, descriptions and information from a variety of sources. If you believe, acting in good faith, that the data, descriptions or information displayed on the Site or used in the services provided by the Site infringe your copyright you may request that the data, description or information be removed or blocked by MI Connect. This request must be compliant with the Copyright Act 1968(Cth) and must include sufficient information to enable MI Connect to identify the data, description or information that is alleged to infringe your copyright. A request with respect to alleged copyright infringement must be forwarded by registered mail to a Mindroom Innovation Director.

Under no circumstances shall MI Connect, its providers, employees or agents be liable to you, any user of the Site or the Services provided by the Site or any third party for any form of damages including without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential damages arising out of or relating to the use or attempted use of the Site or the Services provided by the Site including but not limited to the result of your use of the Site and /or the Services provided by the Site or any Site linked in any way to this Site however arising.

MI Connect is a free service designed to connect MI international students with community and provide employment opportunities to MI students. MI Connect will not be liable to the nature of/outcome of interactions between employers and students. While MI Connect was designed and built with nothing but good intentions, its owners understand that many scenarios can eventuate when students are hired to do jobs. MI Connect is not responsible and will not be liable to the following:

  • Students’ communication with potential employers and employers
  • Students’ performance at the job they were given
  • Employers’ behaviour
  • Terms of employment
  • Payments of any sort
  • The nature of the job/s
  • The overall experience of either party.

If you choose to use MI Connect to find a student to do a job or to as a student to find a job, you are doing it at your own risk, and you take full responsibility for engaging with others. MI Connect neither condone nor condemn employers or students, but rather allowing members of the community to connect with students.

If you feel this service is not safe for you, unfair or may hurt you in any way, please do not use it, or contact one of Mindroom Innovation’s director prior to using it.

The Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and MI Connect.
